The secondary character is not a minor character in a story. They are significant to the story and always interact with the protagonist on one level or another. They may be the protagonists’ best friend or someone who opposes the protagonist without becoming the antagonist (such as a strict parent). They are the character who, either way, join the protagonist on their journey, whatever that may be. There are several tips to creating a good secondary character.
